A medieval castle filled with dragons, puppet shows, storytelling, and enchanting feasts was recently constructed near the heart of the Twin Cities in Bloomington, MN. This castle is nestled inside the Mall of America on the fourth floor, and is open to children of all ages — whether 9 or 92.
Museum-goers can expect to act as royalty or villagers by trying on costumes galore in the Tailor’s workshop, put their nose to the grindstone in the blacksmith’s shop patching holes with metal pieces, build furniture for the castle, put on a puppet show, or even cook a meal in the gothic kitchen. If young children are in tow, there is a place for them, too. Toddlers can be placed in The Keep where they are able to interact with wooden blocks and the castle’s jester. Don’t forget to visit The Dragon Tower to visit Herald, the castle’s dragon. This interactive exhibit is sponsored by the Minnesota Children’s Museum.
