RISE UP, O MEN
More than 200 seats in the Plymouth Playhouse have filled quickly almost every afternoon since August. “Rise Up, O Men,” the sixth chapter of the “Church Basement Ladies” series, pokes fun at a Norwegian Lutheran church whose women can’t seem to keep a clean kitchen.
The venue is small, but don’t let that fool you. The performers are veterans, most of them acting within the same comedy-musical series for 10 consecutive years. And don’t worry, you don’t have to see all five chapters of “Church Basement Ladies” to understand this performance.
“We always introduce the characters,” ticket manager Matthew Sloeder said. “It’s very easy to pick up on the go.”
The show wraps up its seven-month stint on April 8.
