Student Employment Job Fair

Stop by the Student Employment Job Fair Nov. 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the BC Atrium to learn about on-campus employment opportunities and meet potential coworkers. Facilities management and dining services will probably be there, but don’t limit your options quite yet. “On-campus job” doesn’t fully discredit the possibility of President Ross Allen’s job being up for grabs at the fair. You’ll have to go to find out.

Job & Internship Bulletin Board

I see my last pitch for an on-campus job wasn’t good enough for you. Don’t worry, I have more information to offer. There is a new bulletin board in the hallway across from Career Development & Calling. If the *NEW* bulletin board itself still isn’t good enough for you (it should be), there are postings for private and public employers, side jobs and full-time jobs stuck into the board. Unfortunately, I don’t think President Ross Allen’s position will be on this board.

Political Polarization in Churches with Dr. Andy Bramsen

Come hear about Dr. Andy Bramsen’s sabbatical research Nov. 16 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. in the library or via Zoom. Bramsen, a political science professor, interviewed area pastors about the impact of political polarization on their church community and life, and he will be sharing what he learned this week. Not only is the research topic juicy, but Bramsen also has a 4.5 on ratemyprofessors.com. Those rankings hold more philosophical weight and validity to me than any resource I’ve ever found from Bethel’s databases.

GlobeMed Fall Silent Auction

Globemed is hosting a virtual silent auction to combat unemployment in Uganda. This is in collaboration with the Facilitation for Innovations and Sustainable Productivity, a non-profit, grassroots organization that works to create sustainable jobs for youth in Uganda. The auction has gift cards, merchandise and baskets from local businesses. I’m no finance major, but I would spend my hard-earned money on the Chick-fil-a gift card instead of the Cane’s one. It’s a little something I like to call “investing wisely and having good taste.” If you want me to take over your investment portfolio, just send me an email.
