When I feel like I’m drowning in homework or trapped in the tiny little world that is Bethel, I’ll zone out to Netflix’s Planet Earth, where I am suddenly transported to the polar extremes of the planet where snow leopards stalk their prey on jagged mountains or the arid landscapes of Tanzania where lion cubs play. I’ll watch giant ants carry their food deep into the Amazon or bizarre birds with bright feathers. It reminds me that the world is bigger than my reality and allows me to escape my long list of responsibilities.
