A quick look at new Bethel arrivals from across the nation and overseas.

By Rachel Blood

Karrina Bauer, incoming freshman and business marketing major, is attending Bethel this fall over 1,600 miles from her hometown of Las Vegas.

Q: Where you were born, where did you grow up, and where do you live now?

A: I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. I’ve lived here my whole life.

Q: How did you first hear about Bethel? What made you choose to attend school so far from home?

A: I wanted to go to a Christian based college and be close to family. When I was searching online for colleges, there weren’t many Christian universities close to home. My dad’s side of the family lives in Minnesota and when I saw Bethel, there was just something about the community that seemed like a family and that’s what I desired. It’s also only like 10 to 15 minutes from my grandma so that’s a plus!

Q: What’s your major/minor?

A: I plan on majoring in business marketing and minoring in graphic design.

Q: Do you plan on playing sports or being involved in music or theater at Bethel?

A: I’ve been a part of cheer and gymnastics my whole life, and though I would love to do that in college, Bethel doesn’t offer that, so I will be solely focused on academics and maybe try out for the worship band.
