Kakao announced the web novel Solo Leveling: Ragnarok in April 2023, during which Chugong expressed his decision to support Daul and noted that he felt the same emotions he experienced when first releasing the original story.

In a recent interview with LitRes, a Russian digital and audio book service, Chugong stated that Ragnarok was an experiment to explore another author’s interpretation of the world he created. “Ragnarok was a spin-off created to satisfy fans,” Chugong explained. “I was curious to see how another author could write Solo Leveling.”
