In a notable shakeup within the Dallas Mavericks coaching staff, assistant coach Jared Dudley is set to transition to the Denver Nuggets as the top assistant under David Adelman. This move follows the recent addition of Frank Vogel to the Mavericks, signaling significant changes for the franchise.

Jared Dudley Joins the Denver Nuggets

Dallas Mavericks assistant Jared Dudley is finalizing an agreement to become the lead assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets under David Adelman, according to Andy Miller of Klutch Sports, as reported by ESPN. Dudley has been part of the Mavericks’ staff since 2021, following a 14-year career in the NBA.

Changes in the Mavericks Coaching Staff

This offseason has seen considerable turnover in the Mavericks’ coaching staff. Not only has Frank Vogel joined the team, but assistant Sean Sweeney has departed for the San Antonio Spurs, and Alex Jensen has moved to the University of Utah. Now, with Dudley’s exit, it marks the end of his collaboration with Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd. The two were previously NBA champions together with the Los Angeles Lakers, where Kidd served as an assistant coach and Dudley played.

Now heading to Colorado, the 2020 NBA champion Dudley will take on an elevated role as the primary assistant to Adelman. This strategic move aligns him with a Nuggets team that has recently strengthened its roster during free agency and is poised to contend for a championship title in 2026.
