Among the iconic characters of the Star Wars prequels, Mace Windu stands out, masterfully portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson. This character, created by George Lucas, has left a lasting impact on fans, renowned for his wit, charisma, and distinctive purple lightsaber. Now, Mace Windu faces a formidable new rival: the first major Star Wars villain to wield a purple lightsaber.
The First Villain with a Purple Lightsaber
Lightsabers come in various colors, reminiscent of the vibrant hairstyles of Saiyan warriors. While Star Wars fans have long seen blue, green, and red lightsabers, some colors have remained rare. Notable examples include black, yellow, and brown sabers. Across the three trilogies, one character distinguished himself with an original weapon: Mace Windu.
This purple saber can also be seen in comics featuring Mara Jade Skywalker, Luke Skywalker’s wife and the mother of Ben Skywalker. Notably, Mace Windu is the most famous wielder of this unique color. Now, Star Wars is bringing it back into the spotlight with a new character, Solitus, who will also wield the purple lightsaber.
Solitus: The New Villain in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past
A new trailer and poster have dropped for Pieces of the Past, the latest season of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, featuring Solitus, an all-new antagonist. To make this villain memorable, Star Wars has chosen to provide him with not one but two purple lightsabers.

This marks the first time a villain will wield a purple lightsaber, although LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy previously reimagined Jar Jar Binks as a Sith Lord. Solitus will be voiced by Dan Stevens and is described as the former apprentice of Jedi Bob, voiced by Bobby Moynihan. This backstory adds depth to his character, blending elements of both the light and dark sides of the Force.

Interestingly, Solitus is not the only character associated with a purple lightsaber; Dark Revan, the villain from Knights of the Old Republic, has also been depicted wielding both a red and a purple lightsaber. This development is likely to generate excitement for his upcoming television debut.

In any case, LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past is set to reveal more of these fresh adventures soon. The series is scheduled for release on Disney+ on September 19.
