The upcoming NBA season may still be a couple of months away, but Minnesota Timberwolves player Anthony Edwards is embroiled in a contentious custody dispute off the court. At the center of the conflict is his ex-partner, model Ayesha Howard, who claims that legal formalities regarding their daughter Aubri, born in October 2024, have yet to be executed. With the court having already granted Howard sole custody, the two parties are struggling to reach an amicable agreement.

Custody Dispute Details Unveiled

In court filings, Edwards contends that Howard has failed to fulfill the necessary paperwork that would finalize her custody of Aubri. Although the court has awarded Howard sole custody, the two sides have not been able to agree on critical terms. According to reports, Howard claims Edwards and his legal team are demanding conditions that would prevent her from disparaging him publicly or sharing images of their daughter. Howard maintains that she has not consented to these stipulations.

Apology and Financial Demands Emerge

Complicating matters further, Howard asserts that she is also seeking a public apology from Edwards. She demands that he share this acknowledgment on all his official social media platforms, retracting any false or misleading statements made about her throughout the custody battle. In her view, the apology should emphasize her integrity and significance in Aubri’s life.

In addition to the apology, Edwards states that Howard is pursuing an “exorbitant” sum of $500,000 in damages. Some reports suggest that her financial demands may include $55,000 annually for life. There are rumors indicating that Edwards has offered to pay all 18 years of child support upfront, totaling about $1.08 million, but these claims lack verification.

Earlier this July, Edwards revealed that he has never met Aubri. Howard, aged 38, previously stated that Edwards has expressed no interest in being involved in their daughter’s upbringing. She insists that her financial demands are not rooted in the custody dispute itself, but rather in the “substantial financial and reputational damages” she has faced during these proceedings.

Edwards, 24, who has fathered children with multiple partners, is currently navigating another custody challenge. Given the complexities of this situation, it appears that a resolution may remain elusive for some time.
