LEGO enthusiasts around the globe number in the millions, and for good reason—the brand has maintained its popularity for decades. For fans who love assembling the latest sets like the Black Pearl or the Death Star, working for the renowned Danish company is a dream come true. This dream became a reality for one employee, who received a truly exceptional gift from LEGO.

An Incredible LEGO Gift

Many companies offer gifts to their employees as a token of appreciation for loyalty, good performance, or special occasions. When LEGO opts to thank one of its employees, it certainly raises the bar.

As shown in the photos below, a LEGO employee recently received a bouquet of flowers. While this might seem unremarkable at first glance, a closer look reveals something special: a golden LEGO Duplo brick, a piece that is exceptionally rare since it is not available in any standard set.

The surprising aspect of this gift is that the employee, known as SpamMjolner on Reddit, received it after only four years with LEGO. Typically, this golden brick is awarded to employees with ten, twenty, or even forty years of service. However, in this instance, the gift coincided with the completion of his learning period at LEGO after those four years.

In addition to the remarkable golden brick and the bouquet, he also received a model kit to build a Vespa 125.

The Value of Rarity

The golden brick is a prized item for collectors, but for some employees, it is seen as just another ordinary brick. This sentiment is echoed in a response from another employee who received a similar gift. When asked if the golden brick was used for anything in particular, they jokingly replied:

“LOL, no. You just stack them on your desk to collect dust, and eventually throw them out along with dozens of other LEGO-related items from events or promotions… I know this may upset some, but when you are surrounded by LEGO and have unlimited access to much of the LEGO universe, it becomes just another thing for most of us. You quickly become immune to the novelty.”

If you’re eager to get your hands on this exceptional brick, your options are limited to either applying for a job at LEGO and staying for several years or trying your luck on Bricklink, a marketplace specifically for LEGO bricks. Notably, a golden brick has already been spotted there, priced at €65.
